~Biography~ Born and bred in Scotland and based in London Christian is a young, classical, character actress.
Determined to pursue a career in acting from a very young age, she read English and Classics at Newcastle University before training at the prestigious Drama Centre London. During her 3 years there she trained in an extensive range of classical and contemporary styles and works.
Since leaving Drama Centre Christian has worked in theatre, TIE, children’s entertainment, voiceovers and radio. Her most recent projects include Aglaya in Dostoevski’s The Idiot for the Theatre Collection and Lottie in The Molly Room, at the White Bear Theatre.
Her independent work also includes a year at the National Youth Theatre, Isabella in The Spanish Tragedy and Amanda in The Relapse for Eton College and, more recently, Julie Wucht in Dea Loher’s Tattoo with the Company of Angels at the Tristan Bates Theatre.
While at Newcastle Christian played Emelia in Shakespeare’s Othello and founded her own theatre company, The Improv Group, with which she devised new, original work and directed Anouilh’s Antigone. The group continues to flourish.
Christian has a long-held love and passion for classical theatre, from ancient Greek tragedy, through Shakespeare and the Jacobeans, Restoration and the Romantics to the work of Ibsen, Chekov, Dickens, Wilde, Shaw and beyond.
A small amount of travel in Turkey, Jordan, Syria and the Lebanon gave her the opportunity to regale unsuspecting tourists with Shakespeare monologues, in various amphitheatres around the ancient world!
Her acting has been described as fearless, versatile, intelligent and sensitive. Christian would like to be still working when she is 70 years old.
